(Scam Warning: If someone directs you to contact a “pet tracker” on Instagram  or tells you they found your pet but need a verification code, it is a scam.)

1. UPDATE MICROCHIP. Immediately call the chip company to report the pet as lost. Ensure they have your latest contact info.

2. 24PETConnect (use to be Pet Harbor). Register your lost pet at the Animal Foundation or Henderson Shelter via https://24petconnect.com/BreedRequest/Lost . Check the site daily as well.

3. FLIERS Post printed fliers for the missing pets in the area he/she was last seen. Free customize-able templates here: https://www.postermywall.com/index.php/posters/search?s=lost%20animal (Free option is good enough). Or use the one from pawboost below.

4. CRAIGSLIST. Place a free lost ad here http://lasvegas.craigslist.org/search/laf . Check there and also here daily: http://lasvegas.craigslist.org/search/pet

5. NEXTDOOR. Join and post a free lost ad on Nextdoor.com or via their phone app. One of your neighbors may have or seen your pet recently and don’t know how to contact you.

6. PAW BOOST. Post a flyer with Pawboost.com (free and paid options).

7. KTNV/CH13. http://www.ktnv.com/news/photos-missing-pets-in-las-vegas-area

8. SHELTERS http://animalfoundation.com (look under Get Pet Help), http://www.cityofhenderson.com/animal-control/lost-and-found. Boulder City also has their own shelter.

9. LVRJ. http://lasvegasreviewjournal.adperfect.com/ then click Announcements then Lost. Check the Found ads too.

10. FACEBOOK GROUPS. Post in lost dogs groups (https://www.facebook.com/groups/LostDogsOfLasVegas for example) but also neighborhood-specific groups.

11. Post on Petco’s https://lost.petcolove.org/

12. Post to the Ring App. You don’t have to be an owner of a Ring doorbell to use it.

13. Make sure to give your mail carrier a flyer. They see and hear a lot.

14. OTHER. Some other ideas to spread the word: Snapchat, Twitter, Instagram. Post on your own Facebook timeline making sure it’s set to PUBLICLY viewable, not just your friends.
