Fixing Nevada Solving Nevada’s Pet Overpopulation

We aim to fix issues in our communities that leads to pet overpopulation and to encourage owners to fix (spay and neuter) their companion animals. Thus our name, “Fixing Nevada.” We are a Nevada Domestic Nonprofit Corporation.

We promote the spay and neutering of companion animals (pets) reducing the number of unwanted pets in our state and increasing their health while reducing the public burden for care of unwanted pets. 

We educate the community on spay and neuter, pitfalls of buying from backyard breeders and puppy mills, general pet health care, and pet microchipping /identification (return-to-owner programs) and pet-related laws with specific additional outreach to communities that may not speak English as their primary language. We aim to reduce the friction in providing pet-related services to our communities.

We are also experts in “dead-end” microchip research, reuniting pets where the microchip info is stale or incomplete.

Our primary community focus is on the Southern Nevada area and we will expand to the rest of the state as we increase our resources. Fixing Nevada was founded by John Brassner who is the current Executive Director.
